D'Apprendre, organised by Team Empresario on 3rd of Aug 2011 was a huge success and was graced with the presence of three eminent speakers Mr. Kunal Shah, CEO of freecharge.in, Ms. Shilpi Kapoor, founder and director of Net Systems Informatics Pvt Ltd. and BarrierBreak Technologies and Mr. Ankit Mathur, co- founder at Greenway Grameen Infra Pvt Ltd. who spoke about their journeys to realize their dreams and give a name to their trail-blazing endeavours. Prof. Ashok K Pundir welcomed the guests with his wise words on importance of entrepreneurship in student community.

The first speaker was the highly motivating Mr. Kunal Shah who spoke about his venture Freecharge.in a unique web site which provides online prepaid mobile recharge and gives recharge amount back by giving equal value of discount coupons to the customer FREE. If you believe in it, then jump into it. Don't wait for the right time, was his advice to the upcoming entrepreneurs. He enthralled the audience with his highly innovative ideas regarding marketing of freecharge.in. and his spirit and passion held the NITIE auditorium spellbound as he narrated various hurdles faced by him in his journey to become one of the most successful startup entrepreneur of today.

The stage was then graced by Ms. Shilpi Kapoor,a protagonist is bringing about revolutionary changes in the lives of people with disabilities through her innovative ideas and initiatives. She spoke passionately about the need for an inclusive society where the persons with disabilities are treated with equal respect and disability solutions are not looked at as charity but rather as business propositions. "It is a mindset change that is required to adopt accessibility", she said. The audience was awestruck by her feminine grace sparked with confidence and wisdom when she addressed the various challenges faced by the woman entrepreneurs.

The last speaker was the buoyant and a fresh graduate Mr. Ankit Mathur, an entrepreneur in the environment and sustainability space, founder of Greenway Grameen Infra, India's first ecosystem services firm focused on creation of sustainable rural infrastructure. He caught the audience with his great sense of humor and down to earth attitude as he addressed various practical issues faced by a young out-of-college entrepreneur. He stressed on the importance of family support and support from the educational institute in starting a new venture. "Do not underestimate the power where you are studying", said he when asked whether being an IIM graduate help him in his entrepreneurship endeavor. He spoke of his tough times with a casual grace and his charming gestures and innovative ideas put forward a new dimension to environmental entrepreneurship.

The D'Apprendre 2011 came to a spectacular end with an igniting speech by Prof T.S Prasad. The event was truly a celebration of the spirit of entrepreneurship that inspired and motivated both the students and faculty members alike to journey through the 'Road less travelled by'
