Regional Meet -Bangalore - 2007

 

 


The NITIE Regional Alumni Meet, Bangalore Chapter was organized in Hotel Canopy, in Bangalore on 26th May 2007.

The event got underway with the launch of NITIE’s own On-campus Student Venture ‘Impact’. Impact, a Pathbreaking initiative by an inhouse committee of Management Students of NITIE would be completely run by Students and would cater to entire Gamut of needs of a MBA aspirant. This Unique Initiative would help these student entrepreneurs integrate their Classroom learning with Practical aspects of running a venture, thus Creating “Business Laboratory” kind of Environment.

The Meet began with Hon. Secretary, N.A.A. Professor A. K. Pundir addressing the gathering and was followed by the alumni introducing themselves individually. The event was attended by around 60 people including 30 alumni from the city. The introductions were informal and fun-filled with the recollection of their experiences in NITIE.

Director Dr. S. D. Awale interacted with the alumni and the alumni raised various queries about the branding of the institute well in the outside world, convocation and also gave a few suggestions towards the betterment of the institute, the various events conducted there, and marketing NITIE to the companies and media. The Director mentioned that the convocation would be organized on July 21st 2007. He also briefed the things that were discussed in the AGM during Sansmaran 2006, like collecting funds from the alumni to improve NITIE’s infrastructure and how they plan to do it.

Some of the batches mentioned that they had regular get-togethers amongst themselves. The Meet was a very interactive one and ended with a very interactive and informal dinner with people socializing and getting back with their batch mates.
