The New Delhi Alumni Meet held on 12th May, 2007, revived nostalgic memories among various NITIE alumni. Organized at a big scale outside NITIE for the first time, it was attended by around 25 Alumni, with alumni as senior as Mr. Shankar Mukherjee, Operations Manager, Ansaldo Signal, of IE-16 attending the event.

The event was graced by Prof A.K Pundir, a NITIE Alumni himself, and Honorary Secretary NITIE Alumni Association (NAA). Prof. Pundir got very nostalgic about his days as a student in NITIE. The other Alumni included Mr. Ashish Mendiratta, Director Supply Chain- Philips (IE- 18), Mr. Avtar Mahajan, General Manager- CSC (IE- 18), and Mr. Prateek Datta, Senior Manager- Accenture (IM- 3) , to name a few.

Among delicious food and drinks served, many interesting sessions were held, courtesy Ramesh Vadlamani of the current batch, who made sure that the Alumni shared their fun-filled experience when they were students in NITIE.

The main agenda discussed among the nostalgia was the improvement of Brand Image of NITIE, and the challenges NITIE faces in the changing economic and corporate scenario. Some of the issues discussed were: • Restructuring of the academic curriculum at NITIE. • Expansion of Alumni chapter, and to utilize the strength of our alumni to the maximum. • Feasibility of organizing similar meets for Alumni, currently posted in foreign countries, especially USA and Europe.

Also, Prof. Pundir discussed in detail about the placement scenario at NITIE, and how NITIE is currently addressing the needs of the corporate world. He also briefed the alumni about Sansmaran, held during Dec’06 and the initiatives planned during the Annual General Meeting.
