Annual Alumni Meet
Sansmaran is an endeavor by NITIE to reunite the NITIE family every year on this picturesque campus. Nostalgia and excitement of meeting old friends brought the alumni back to the campus once again for the two day long festival.
This year Sansmaran was held on 21st-22nd December, 2007, when the PGDIE-10th batch Alumni who have vehemently shouldered the motto of NITE “Udyog Pragati” were felicitated on their silver jubilee.
The event started on 21st December, 2007, with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony by the honorable Director, Dr. Subhash D Awale, Speaking at the event, the Director, Dr. Awale refreshed old memories and said that from the ‘Batch of Origin’ that passed out from the institute in 1973, to the numerous batches down the line in 2007, the alumni have been the epitome of the philosophy, beliefs and values that NITIE stands for. They have been the true ambassadors of NITIE and their success has done the institute proud.
The souvenir was released by Dr. S.D.Awale, Director, NITIE and President NAA, who then proceeded to address the gathering. Following this, six of the industry’s leading CEO including one of our alumni kick-started CEO Conclave. The topic of the panel discussion was “GenNext – Taking India to Global Leadership “.

CEO Conclave
Various inputs and points were raised during the discussion and interesting questions from the students and the guests made the discussion even more captivating. The concluding remarks were given by Honourable President, NAA, Director, NITIE, Dr. Subhash D. Awale. What followed was a talent night with Gen X performing just before the dinner, a cultural programme presented by the Gen X.
Bhangra Performance
Seeing the energy and enthusiasm among the Gen X, the alumni could no longer restrain themselves from coming on the stage. Our honourable Director also presented a song and set the tone for the evening. A gala dinner followed the cultural programme. The serene surrounding coupled with delectable food sat just the right platform for an informal interaction between the students, alumni and faculty.
The second day (22nd December) started with a session of alumni interaction with faculty members and students. Many questions came up during the discussion related to the role of alumni in the development of the institute, strengthening institute-alumni interaction, positioning of NITIE in today’s scenario in the industry.

The sessions brought out many interesting insights to the expectations alumni have from the college and vice versa.
NITIE Alumni Association organized 23rd Annual General Body Meeting on 22nd December, 2007 at NITIE and the members discussed about the various activities of NAA and also shared their views. Annual statement of accounts for the year 2006-07 was passed by members.

The general body meeting was attended by a large number of NAA members.
Dr. S.D. Awale, NITIE, Director and President, NAA highlighted the contribution made by various Alumni. The students organizing committee from Lakshya have contributed Rs 27,000/- and from Prerana Organising Committee Rs 30,000/-. Dr. Ganesh Natarajan suggested that a fund mobilization for improving the infrastructure of NITIE
Dr. Ganesh Natarajan on behalf of Alumni presented a total contribution of Rs. 6,50,000/- by various alumni.
NITIE Alumni Association wholeheartedly appreciated the effort put in by Dr. Ganesh Natarajan for mobilizing the funds as well as appreciated the contribution made by alumni. NAA hoped that more and more alumni will come forward and contribute the funds to the institute.
With a large number of alumni coming out in full force to make Sansmaran 2007 event a monumental success, NITIE has guaranteed that people will continue to talk about this memorable evening for years to come.
